Used Audi S5: Best Prices to Expect

Used Audi S5: Best Prices to Expect

Used Audi S5 cars are starting to appear on the secondary market after the hot model made its debut in 2007. This model marks Audi return to the mid-sized coupe market since production ended in 1996 on the Audi 80 line. The S5 differs from the Audi S4 Avant, the Audi S4 Quattro and the Audi S4 Cabriolet in that it is more of a comfortable touring coupe as opposed to a sport-oriented model. The S4 line often has more power and carries the high performance all-wheel drive transmission.

Comparing It with Other Models

With Audi, you know you are getting a high quality vehicle, so even on the secondary market prices are still relatively high for a model that is less than 2 years old. The S5 Quattro line offers the best price on the used market, but it is still above $42,000 for a used version. Many models, even with a few thousand miles on them average around $50,000 on the secondary market. This does prevent a slight price break if you are looking for a used version. Most new versions of the Quattro, which is again the lowest priced model, start at $54,000 for a stripped down, bare bones version.

Features Add Up

As with all cars, the more features that you are looking for will drive the cost up. It is not unexpected that you can pay nearly $70,000, even for a used model, if it comes decked out with tons of alternate features. One 2009 Audi S5 4.2 Quattro coupe with just 900 miles on it was found listed for $69,625. You get plenty of quality for this price though. Rain-sensing wipers, headlight wipers and washers, heated seats and a trip computer are all features that bring the price up from your bare bones model. This is a quality car that can be found for between $50,000 and $70,000 depending on what you want in it.

If you’re in the market for a new Audi, the price you pay will be based on the model and the features. If you look around enough you can find one that fits in with your price requirements.
